The Manager Log is an internal communications tool that allows a User to add Tasks, Events, Messages, Staffing Notes, and Log Entries. This module works in conjunction with the Employee Data module (EDM), the Event Management module, and the Labor Scheduling module.

Manager Log Basics

Each page represents a day, and any information on the page relates to that particular date. A User can flip through days by selecting the double arrows at the top sides or bottom sides of each page. The arrows on the left side of the page move you back a day while the right arrows will move you forward a day. You may also select a date from the calendar or click the 'Today' button for the current day's Manager Log Page.

You can also complete the following actions:

  • Print - You may print the entire Manager Log day by clicking 'Print'
  • Search - You can search for any Manager Log entry by entry type or by keyword
  • View a Particular Date - The 'Viewed Status' section allows users to indicate that they viewed the log for a particular date by selecting 'I Viewed the Log'. Users with the proper permissions can view a list of Users who indicated that they viewed the log
  • Configure the Log- Click 'Configuration' to configure each of the Manager Log's sections. Only Users with the proper permissions can arrange the following six sections:
    • Sales Figures
    • Tasks
    • Events
    • Messages
    • Staffing
    • Log Entries

Manager Log Sections

The Manager Log includes six different sections that can be configured as desired by Users with the proper permissions.

Sales Figures Section

This section provides Users with a quick way to reference information for User-defined metrics. Each Location may choose its own set of metrics, which will only be displayed on their Location-specific page. To configure this, select 'Configure On' (on the left side of the screen) then select 'Configure' (directly above the 'Sales Figures' section).

The 'Posted Schedules for Next Week' section is directly below the 'Sales Figures' section. This section provides Users with a link that takes them directly to next week's schedules.

Below the 'Posted Schedules for Next Week' section is the 'Tip of the Day' section. RADAR displays global tips that will automatically populate this section. You also have the ability to add your own company-specific tip of the day. To configure your own tip of the day, click 'Configure On' (the left side of the screen) and then click the blue 'Manage Tips' link that appears in the 'Tip of the Day' box.

Tasks Section

The 'Tasks' section allows a User to create a task for themselves or for other Manager Log Users. To create a new task, click 'Add Task'. To complete the creation of the new task you must indicate the following:

  • Format - The format used for the data column entry as Users check off their completed task. You may choose from the following formats:
    • Checkbox
    • Number
    • Checkbox & Text
  • Start & End Date - These settings will establish the dates for which the task  will remain in the Manager Log
  • Assign To - You may pick the User to whom you wish to assign the task. The person to whom the task is assigned will be the only person that may mark the task as complete. You may also select 'Anyone', which will allow anyone to mark the task as complete
  • Email when Done? - If this option is selected, the person that created the task will receive an email notifying them of the task's completion. The User must have an email address associated with their User account in order to receive the email
  • Type - You may choose the task type here. Users can add their own task types within the Log Entry configuration or choose from one of the three standard types loaded for new clients:
    • General
    • Repair/Maintenance
    • Employee Issues
  • End When Checked? - If you create a task that spans multiple days, and the 'End When Checked?' option is selected, then the task's assigned end date will be the DOB (date of business) on which the task was checked/completed. The task entries for the remaining days in the original date range will then be deleted from the Manager Log
  • All my Locations? - selecting this option will add the task to the Manager Log of all Locations for your company
  • Description - Users may enter any desired text describing the task here

To mark a task as complete if you are the assigned User or if the task has been assigned to 'Anyone', simply check the box in the Data column, add any additional text or numbers, and then select 'Save Data' from the bottom, left corner of the 'Tasks' section.

Events Section
