The Alerts widget allows the User to setup custom ranges for various metrics to view on the dashboard.



Create or Edit a New Alert


To create a new Alert, fill in the fields and click the 'Add' button. To edit an existing alert, click the 'Edit' pencil icon, modify the necessary fields, and click 'Update'. To delete an existing alert, click the 'Delete' red x icon.



Alerts Widget Details


Below are the features of this widget:

  • Alert Name - The title of the alert that will be shown on the dashboard when the alert is displayed
  • Alert Type - The metric that the alert is based upon
  • Location Group - The group of Locations that the specified metric is calculated against
  • Period Type - This determines the date range that the metric is calculated over
  • 'Is =/- ?' Checkbox- This determines ranges that span across zero. These will display:
    • Green: (-5) to 5
    • Yellow: (-10) to (-5)
    • Red: Below (-10) or above 10
  • Positive - Green - This is the range that is considered good for this metric. This value is determined by the User. For example, if monitoring Comps and $50 is Comps is the goal, the value would be 50 or less
    • Note: If using percentages, they should be entered as a decimal
  • Warning - Yellow - This is the range that is considered borderline for this metric. This value is determined by the User. For example, if monitoring Comps over $150 are unacceptable, the value would be 150 or more
    • Note: If using percentages, they should be entered as a decimal
  • Serious - Red - This is the range that is considered bad for this metric. This value is determined by the User. For example, if monitoring Comps over $200 are unacceptable, the value would be 200 or more
    • Note: If using percentages, they should be entered as a decimal
  • 'Add to' - This allows the User to create one or multiple alerts at the same time. This option can be used to quickly add an alert for all Locations in a Location Group. For example, if the User wishes to create the same alert for each Location in the company, selecting the 'All Location' Location Group and the 'Locations in the Location Group' options will add the alert for all Locations in the company.

Q: How should I enter the positive/warning/serious range numbers?

A: When dealing with percentages, these ranges should be decimal numbers. For example, 30% should be entered as 0.30.
