Polling is the communication between Radar the POS (Point of Sale) for each location. Each night after the POS end of day Radar polls in the following data: 

  • Sales – Previous Day ONLY 
  • Labor – Last 21 days 
  • Actual Cash Deposits – Last 7 days 

 

The Poll Status Module provides a visual representation of the polling status for each location on the database. This module is used to:  

  • Review the health of your locations’ connection with your Radar database 
  • Trigger manual re-polls to import fresh data

The Poll Status Module is accessible through the Waffle Menu.

The Poll Status module is made of two pages, the Polling Activity page, and the Missing Data page. These pages make it easy for you to view polling information for specific days, locations, location groups, or polling devices. 


Polling Activity Page  




The Polling Activity page displays the polling status for each location on the database and is where repolls are issued.  
 

Polling Activity Page Filters 


The Polling Activity page can be filtered to adjust the Locations and DOB (Date of Business) being viewed.  



 

  1. Location Group -This filter is used to reduce the displayed locations to a Location Group or single location.
    • Note: If you do not have access to 'All Company', only the locations you have access to will be displayed
  2. DOB (Date of Business) - This filter will change the DOB displayed
  3. Search - This filter can also be used to reduce the locations displayed. Enter in part or an entire location name to filter for all locations containing the entered text
  4. Time Zone - This filter is used to change the time zone of the displayed times. This defaults to Pacific Standard Time (PST)
  5. Show - This will apply the filters selected


Location Polling Information 


 

  1. + Show Key - This will show all possible status icons when clicked. Click here to learn more information about these icons
  2. Status - This will provide information about the day's data. Including:
    • Whether the data was successfully polled or if an error was encountered during import 
    • If Polled data has not been posted in GL Sales 
    • If the day was polled multiple times 
    • If Polling is locked from Payroll Validation  
    • If Polling is locked from GL Sales

  3. ID - The ID box will provide the Radar Location ID. This is the unique ID number Radar uses to identify the location
  4. Location - The Location box displays the name of the location as configured within the Radar database
  5. Device - The Device Box provides information for the POS brand being polled and the Transfer Method for that POS


  6. Time - The poll time indicates the most recent time this location polled for the date of business
  7. Poll - The repoll icons within the Poll box can be clicked to issue a repoll command. Once a location is installed, you can repoll singular days to import missing or incorrect data

     

Polling Detail 


Clicking on a location will bring up polling details for the selected location and DOB.  


The Polling Detail provides additional information regarding the success of each attempted poll. Including time, success status, and data types polled.  


 


Pending Requests 


 


Once a repoll command is issued, the Pending Request detail box will update with the Location ID, POS being repolled, and ETA. This ETA is the next expected communication time between Radar and the POS. Please note, the data import may take a few minutes after this time has elapsed. 


All days and locations being requested will populate regardless of page filters.  

Missing Data Page 




The Missing Data Page displays all locations missing data in the last 30 days from the selected DOB.



 

Any days missing data will be marked with a icon.



Missing Data Page Filters 



  1. Location Group - The Location Group filter is used to reduce the displayed locations to a Location Group or single location. Only locations missing data will be displayed
    • Note: If you do not have access to 'All Company', only the locations you have access to will be displayed
  2. DOB - The DOB filter is used to change the selected DOB. The last 30 days from the selected DOB are displayed
  3. Filter - The Filter is used to select the Data Type to display. Sales, Labor, and Speed of Service are all displayed separately. Reminder: Sales data is polled by the single DOB and labor is polled for a rolling 21 days
  4. Show - This will apply the set filters to the page
